It's your day!

Here's a quick card I made ......just because : )

The flowers are perky and fun : ) I cut them with my Cricut.  The clouds I cut out of pp then stitched around with my sewing machine for more depth. Just a few random pearls and stickers here and there...for fun! The sentiment It's your Day is an epoxy sticker I had in my stash ...for.ev.er. Love when I finally use stuff up : )

It makes me feel happy seeing these soft colors of the puffy clouds paired with the bold orange button flowers!

I can't wait to plant some hearty marigolds with the kids...soon!

I heart cookies

Yumm : ) I love chocolate chips, don't you?
The Paper Studio pp had printed 'love to bake' on it but I went with I heart cookies as my take! I used my Cricut to cut out the mitt ( From My Kitchen), then embossed it with my cuttlebug (favorite folder). I used red MS baker's twine and tied on a cookie jar charm (I've had forever) from Karen Foster. The heart brad is Basic Grey.
Now I'm off to go get some milk for my cookies :)

Just Us Girls Challenge

"Just Us Girls" Challenges are such a great way to break out of the box. It encourages me to use other zones of my brain besides the comfort zone!

I created the loopy flower with my Martha Stewart fringe scissors - you have got to get these if you don't already have them. Sooo cool and very addicting : ) I added the required colors (pink & red) with splashes of bakers twine in pink and red as my bow. The sparkle on the loopy bow was created with random brushed on glue pen strokes then sprinkled with ultra fine MS glitter. That makes me happy : )

This one is sure to tempt you too with Valentine's Day coming up.  Happy Sunday!!! xoxoxoxo

Monday Layering Challenge

Today I decided to play along with Paper Craft Planet in the Monday Layering Challenge. I made a nontraditional Valentine card using blue instead of red or pink. I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot of those colors soon : ) My card was made using my Cricut and the cart was Lovestruck. I am bugstruck for my Cricut : )
 Hope ya like it!
Sentiment is stamped with SU - Valentine Defined. I also used bakers twine by My Mind's Eye. Love the chocolate twist.
Have a great Monday!

Happy New Year!

It's a new year and what better way to start things off than to welcome a new baby into the world?! My hairstylist, Michelle, is expecting her first baby, a boy, who will be named Chance in February! I decided to make her a 12x12 scrapbook that she can plug the photos in once he arrives. I am having a hard time with the first page so I jumped ahead to the "bath time" layout! I looove making baby books so much!
The two patterned pages shown here are from the Baby Boy DCWV stack. I cut up 2 other pages to get the fishy strips as a border.
The title bath time is cut from New Arrival with my Cricut. I added my fav - MS glitter to the bubbles!

The blue wavy paper is made with my Creative Memories border trimmer. The pp is from the same DCWV stack.

The q-tips and other dimensionals are Jolee's boutique.

White rick rack is along bottom edge to frame it.

Close up of fishy glittery border!

That felt great to make! I'm a bit rusty because it's been sooo long but hope to stay in touch with you again : )
Have a great Monday!!!

Color Challenge May 17

A new color challenge is up at The Outlawz!!! I hope you come and check it out this week. The colors were a very neutral combo to work with and I think if you are limited on time like most us are, this time of the year, you can whip up a card for this challenge in no time at all.

Denim, White, Copper

and the "Mahvelous May" twist is to add stitching on your project!

Here is the gift set I made:

It contains a card with a denim pocket that is held on with copper brads,a bookmark (abc123 edger by Martha Stewart) I embossed with argyle and a tag to attach to the gift box once I wrap it up. I cut up an old pair of jeans and used embroidery floss to add just a few spots of pink to attach it and add color to the project! That is all th stitching I did. Easy peasy!
Try it and you are gonna see how fast it comes together!

Happy Wednesday : )

Color Challenge May 3rd

This week at The Outlawz Color Challenge all DT members used the same digital image to show how we all have unique styles.
Here is what we used as our inspiration photo (for colors):

Digi's With Attitude has supplied the Design team with a fabulous image to play with today. We were all given Tabatha and Tony to play with. Good thing too, because the color inspiration picture this week features our colors of Orange, Black or Brown, White and the Mahvelous May twist is to use twine on your project!

Here is my version:

It's hard to see but I added flock to the whites of their ears and pink to their noses and tan flock to look like a shadow. STabitha also is sporting a rhinestone necklace! Click on image to see larger version!
You have to see what the other DT members did-AMAZING,really. I don't colr with Copics but they do and they seriously belong in magazines or something!
Hope you are inspired by the colors and make something to share with us!

Perfect Pair!

Happy Wednesday to you ; )

I had a sheet of pear stickers and decided to make several various cards with them.
The first one I embossed the tag "the perfect pair" in chocolate powder. Kept the colors neutral.

The next card I texturized a bit. A little tearing, inking and a new embossing folder (Square Lattice) from SU. Still pretty neutral.

I had to go bright with this one!!!! I couldn't take it anymore! I cut up bright pink panels and floral panels and stitched them on to my 6x6 card base with white thread so it would pop out!

I added a few gems and a bee, even a felt butterfly! That felt good!

Nice and bright!

So, which one is your favorite?

Challenge for CAS at the Outlawz

I made a card for the CAS (Clean and Simple) Challenge over at the Outlawz.

Welcome to the very first CAS challenge!! This week's challenge is a RECIPE!

The Recipe:

1. The color Red

2. 1 Embellishement

3. LOTS of white space (does not have to actually BE white, just empty space on your card!)

Ok, I failed at my first attempt and maybe got it right for the 2nd attempt but ended up hating the card! Don't ask me what I was thinking with those lips : ) LOL!!

Here are my 2 tries at clean and simple. If you think it's easy wait until you try!

I failed because I have too many embellies! I can't help it-I like stuff :)

I failed here just because it's scary and ugly but posted it anyway....go ahead laugh...I can take it!
Hope you try the challenges because they are so incredibly addicting and fun!

Happy Saturday night all.........

Cancer Divas

A layout inspired by Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I wanted to incorporate the girls somehow from the Cricut cartridge Forever Young. I chose a variety of cuts and showed how they all have one thing in common-cancer. The "divas" stand and fight together as one.

close ups of each diva:

Friend
I used chunky glitter for her "sweater" and pink cs for her pants

Niece
Pink Vellum makes up her ultra fem dress

Sister
Pink cs for her suit

Mother
Here I used ultra fine Martha Stewart glitter for her (body) hot suit and pink glitter for her shoes! I had to do it!

Me
The dress here is shiny pearly pink paper. I tied a pink ribbon on her waist like a belt. A couple flowers to embellish her gown and she's set.
Let's keep fighting for a cure and save more lives. God Bless all the survivors out there.

Have a peaceful Sunday.

Baby Girl (Preemie) Album

Hello!!!

It has been foreeeever since I have posted! I had surgery in August (on my neck) and am now finally on my feet and back to scrapping and card making! Yaaaay! It feels good to be connected once again : )

This is a project I had been working on in preparation for the birth of a baby girl (for someone in my extended family). We were all surprised by her "early bird" entrance into the world on Tuesday the 19th! She weighed in at a whopping 4.4 lbs. Little sweet pea!!!!
I'm almost finished with the book. She was not due until November so I have to now make
a "Baby's First Boo" or "Lil' Pumpkin" page and fit it in somewhere! Lil' Lady would be cute if her mom was going to dress her up as a ladybug! I have a thing for lady bugs!

So here are the pages I have already completed. Hope you enjoy them : )

PS: I have lots of Halloween cards to post after the baby book is done.

Have a great day!

Cover looks a bit bright here in the pic but it's softer in person.
"Little Girls are heaven's flowers." Stamp set from Cloud 9~ Simple thoughts-Girl set

Inside cover(left) I made a pocket out of paper to slip in the card for the parents. This paper is soo soft! It's pink houndstooth by me&my Big Ideas. It's "specialty cardstock" Sooo sweet for baby girls :) I added a strip of eyelet trim and a crocheted rattle to finish it off.
The first page has piece of patterned paper with assorted baby items I just couldn't cover up so I added a cute little saying (or poem) for the parents around the edge and used black ink to tie in the color on the pink satin ruler ribbon.

closer look

The nursery theme is farm animals so I thought it would be cute to announce her
by asking, "Have you 'herd' the news?!!" It came as one long strip so I cut it up and popped it on the cloud as if the butterfly were asking!
The little lamb (once a button) is one of my favorite details. The paper line is by October Afternoon,Farm Fresh and Ducks in a Row. It's so great because they all work so well together.
"Early Bird" how appropriate, right?! Pink stickers by Cosmo Cricket. Rub-on birdy by American Crafts-Dear Lizzy-Perch Accents (mini marks)

I cut the shank off the button and used it like a brad!

Double page view

Prima flowers, waxy flax and pearls to dress up the letters and Miss Duck!

Little Baby title cut from Nursery Rhymes cart (Cricut). Paper is Nana's Nursery -DCWV. Accents are American Crafts / Dear Lizzy

I had to embellish with a little Martha Stewart glitter! She is a girl, after all! ; )

The Stork and Lamb is cut from A Child's year (Cricut). I added glitter to the storks wings and I embossed the lamb with mini hearts cuttlebug folder.

It might be hard to see but I added pink flock to the baby that the stork is carrying! So delicate.

Here is where the whole inspiration started! The bedding from Babies R Us is this to a T! I fell in love and started decorating right away! I used my sewing machine to stitch the grass (meadow) to the background to give it the homespun feel. Gingham and roosters ...farm fresh! Organic all the way!

Pop dot all to add dimension. All animals are from Country Life cart (Cricut)

I made their legs brown and cranberry just like on the blanket-this is so super custom! I hope they love it!!!

It's all about dresses and daisies here!

The ribbon is velvety smooth and silky. Super soft like baby skin.

Sweet Pea was cut from New Arrival (Cricut) There is a clear transparency on the right they will lay a picture on top of it and the bottom will show through to say-sweet baby girl.
