Easter Basket

Happy Sunday!

Easter is right around the corner so you better "hop" to it!

Are you looking for a unique idea for Easter baskets? Well, look no further I have a really cool idea you can try.
I made this basket in about an hour. It all started out as a brown paper lunch sack. I cut strips of cardstock up and attached them to the bag using my ATG gun. After they were on I used bamboo skewers to weave in and out of the strips to resemble a real wicker/bamboo basket. The bamboo skewers were natural in color so I painted the entire bag (and sticks) with acrylic paint in a lime shade. Next, I applied 3 shades of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to the entire bag. I was pleased with the rustic washed blend so next I adhered pussy willow to the top edge. On the botom edge is a decorative jute ribbon border. The shred on the inside of the bag was the leftover portion of the bag that was originally cut off. My favorite part is the handle. I went into my backyard and cut forsythia branches and braided them to be my handle. Satin green bows on both sides and a few brown eggs inside. Done!

If you make one send me a link to your blog so I can see how yours turned out.

If you visit Simply Scrapping Crafts you can see the rest of the design team and their take on this. It was a lot of fun trying to come up with something different. If you do go to the site you have to join and become a member to view the gallery and projects. It's a friendly, fun site so hope you make it over. What I like best is the challenges on this site. There are tons to enter each week or once a month. Come play along and have some fun!

This would not be a good idea for the kids to use as a collecting baket for their hunts! Definitely for decorative purposes only : )

Have fun!

St. Pat's Day card

Here is a little St. Pat's Day card for you!

We could all use a little love, luck and joy can't we?

I used a Martha Stewart punch for the heart and key (tied on with braiding cord),the clover is a cut from the Paper Doll Dress up cart (embossed with swiss dots using Cuttlebug)),the joy part is a pot of gold from a paper image I printed from a kit.
If you visit www.scrapNfont.com you will find tons of fonts, kits, doodlebats and many more! This kit is called St. Patty Day. It's a snip kit by Lettering Delight.

I adhered my sentiment on top of ledger paper in green font, of course!

Chocolate satin ribbon, Michaels. The sentiment on my bow is a stamp set from CTMH. I covered it with glitter by MS!

Patterned paper ,K&Company-Classic K Margo which is stitched on to the chocolate cs and then matted on top of mint green parchment by Best Occasions.

A birthday gift idea

I almost put in the title ........for a child. That is soooo not true! This gift idea would be awesome for any Disney fanatic! Change the contents to customize it and it becomes really personal and perfect for the recipient.
My friends' daughter turned 10 today so I made up a gift basket for her, from our kids. They are crazy for Disney so hopefully she likes it.
I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cart from the Cricut. Inside is purchased goodies from Michaels to decorate her own keepsake box. Things like glitter glue tubes and coordinating gems are in the tall yellow Inchbag. I pressed fit to page on the Expressions so it cut it out to be fairly large(used a 12x12 sheet). I cannot remember the size now sorry. The small blue Gift Bag is filled with ribbon spools for her to use as well. The tiny yellow Squarebox is filled with flowers and brads. Tucked behind the box lid are Disney sheets to use to decoupage the box with and stickers to embellish it all.

Happy 10th birthday Grace!!!!

Easter Eggs

How funny is this bunny?
He has a chunk missing from his ear?! I should have made a card that said....what? Maybe I will!

The basket is a die cut from the Sizzix, the bunny is from the Easter cart for the Cricut, the eggs were stamped from Easter Egg set by CTMH and then I glittered them up with MS glitter! My favorite : )
Can you see the grass tucked away behind the bunny? Can you guess what it is?
I used a minty green flower, cut in half and stacked on itself. It looks so cute and it already has texture. Just slice down each petal a bit more to look like blades of grass.

Wedding layout

I think this could be a nice layout to put in a shadow box for a newly married couple. There is a card incorporated on the layout for them to write a note to each other or maybe place her six pence in there for safe keeping?! I kept it completely black and white except the bell top cover is cream. Just for dimension or added detail. I tried to get better pics but the sun was so bright I kept getting tons of shadows. Hope you can see the details ok.

Baby Bonnet

I felt in the mood to create something light and soft today so I came up with this "Baby" bonnet page. I couldn't wait to use my Heritage cart so the first cut was the bonnet on this layout.
I used DCWV Nana's Baby Girl Nursery stack to cut the title out and a layer on the frame. It has a double frame and can hold a 5x7 photo.

Attached is eyelet trim to frame the face. I also stitched a smocking design in the middle, can you see it?
I think it would be perfect for a shadow box in a nursery.

What do you think? Please leave a comment if you visit, it makes my day!

Thanks for stopping by!
